Wolf, Goat and the Kid – Aesop’s fable

One day, mama Goat had to go out for some errands and the Kid had to stay back. Before leaving she instructed her child to not open the door for anyone unless they give him the secret password, which was “may the wolf race end.”

A Wolf hiding nearby heard the password and when the Goat left, he knocked on the door, and said the password when the Kid asked. But peering out of a little crack in the door, the Kid could see a dark shadowy figure, which did not feel right.

So, he asked the visitor to show him a white paw or he would not let him in. The Wolf however did not have white paws, and he had to go away hungry.

It is always better to have two confirmations than one.
