The Boy and the Filberts – Aesop’s Fables

The boy and the filberts

A little boy was asked to take as many filberts as he wants right from the jar. As he stuck his hand inside, he collected as many filberts as he possibly could. But, since his hand was so full, he could not get it out of the jar. He tugged and he tugged, but to no avail. The young boy stood there refusing to let go of any of the filberts, when his mother intervened.

“Dear, learn to be content with half of the filberts you have right now, and you can take the other half later” advised his mother.

It is unwise to take up more than you can handle at a time.
